The optimal pH range, indication of a normal, healthy and disease free vagina.
pH 4.5 - 6.5 (ABNORMAL)
A vaginal pH higher than 4.5 is abnormal. Harmful bacteria have a better chance to multiply and may cause infection: yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis.
A convenient vaginal acidity (pH) test for use by women who have symptoms that may be associated with a vaginal infection.
Yeast infection is a fungal infection that causes irritation, discharge and intense itching. A healthy vagina contains bacteria and some yeast cells. When the balance of bacteria and yeast changes, the yeast cells can multiply, causing an infection.
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a bacterial overgrowth condition that causes a “fishy” odor along with an unusual gray, white or yellow discharge. It can also result in itchiness and burning during urination.
Trichomoniasis (TRICH) is caused by the parasite Trichomonas Vaginalis. Yellow-gray or greenish vaginal discharge sometimes with fishy odor.
Please wash and dry your hands before testing, avoid harmful bacteria into the vagina.
Insert a cotton swab into the vagina for 5 seconds and gently tilt the swab to the left and right to absorb as much secretion as possible.
Remove the swab, making sure the tip does not touch any surface. Use a cotton swab to gently wipe the head of the test paper until it is completely wet. If you wipe a layer of surface, the effect is not obvious, and the result is inaccurate.
Read test after 30 secomds, compare the color of the strips with the color test chart. As the color pad will continue to react after the 30 second read period, any results after two minutes are invalid.
